WEED-IT Quadro introduces a new set of features

WEED-IT introduces a new set of features that enables WEED-IT Quadro users to use their system for full coverage spraying. Another, world’s first (!) feature is stepless nozzle control technology to continuously apply the optimal application rate.

Spray in crop

Users have always preferred WEED-IT over other spot spraying systems because of its ease of use, robustness and effectiveness. With the latest software release available as of now, the system is also able to spray in crop as a regular sprayer, utilising its Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) features. This means that users now have the ability to use WEED-IT Quadro for both spot spraying – targeting all weeds on fallow ground – and for in crop – full coverage – spraying. This allows the operator to accurately apply post-emergent crop protection chemicals on a per-nozzle basis with speed and turn compensation. Another advantage is that the PWM nozzle control allows precise application of any application rate without having to swap/turn nozzle bodies manually any longer. Thus, saving time and increasing both the sprayer and treatment efficiency.

Always optimal with WEED-IT stepless nozzle control

Continuous variable transmissions (cvt’s) are nothing new to tractors and self-propelled machines but WEED-IT is the first in the world to introduce cvt technology for continuous variation of PWM nozzle control! Cvt’s on vehicles allow for any operator – whether experienced or inexperienced – to automatically and always work with the optimal speed related to the work being carried out. No more difficult choices between different suboptimal gears and/or speeds for suboptimal performance. Always the best power, always the best speed and always the best performance!

Every sprayer operator knows that when accelerating from the headland, the application rate is suboptimal (too low) because the flow regulator is increasing the flow in steps. When decreasing the driving speed, the flow regulator has to decrease the flow in steps. WEED-IT has now managed, partly thanks to the standard 50 Hz high frequency, to have the PWM nozzle control correct stepless for the time the flow regulator requires to regulate. The result: with WEED-IT stepless nozzle control technology, the application rate is always optimal and on target regardless of acceleration and deceleration from and towards headlands!

Compatible with older systems

This software release, version V4.12 for terminals and version V3.42 for sensors, is standard on new WEED-IT Quadro systems with immediate effect and can be retrofitted to terminals with version V4.10 and higher and Quadro sensors with software version V3.40 and higher.
