At Rometron, we recently started producing our own printed circuit boards. To ensure the quality of our production, the components for these circuit boards must be kept under specific conditions. For this we use a climate closet. However, current cabinets are not suitable for storing components located in machine holders (“feeders”).

Your assignment
We are looking for a creative and technically savvy designer who can develop a functional solution. The assignment offers a lot of freedom in execution, but keep in mind the following requirements:

1. Suitable storage for feeders:

   • The climate closet should have sufficient depth to easily hang the feeders.
   • The design should be practical, with clear markings to identify feeders’ storage locations.

2. Adapt or build your own:

   • Modifying an existing climate closet is our preference, but a completely new design is also possible if that proves more efficient.

3. Integration with inventory management:

   • The system needs to integrate seamlessly with our inventory management system so that feeders’ storage locations can be easily monitored and managed.

Your result
Develop a concrete plan consisting of a design proposal, including specifications, material choices and a practical outline. In this, work out how your solution meets the stated requirements. If possible, include estimated cost and implementation time.
