About Rometron
Rometron develops, produces and distributes WEED-IT©, a market leading, innovative precision technology to detect and treat plants. Through highspeed and high precision detection of chlorophyl, crop protection agents and fertilizers are only applied where needed. The application is modulated through Rometron’s own PWM technology, that ensures a high accuracy. This technology leads to significant savings on chemicals and fertilizers. In its 25 years of existence, Rometron has constantly perfected the WEED-IT technology in close collaboration with the growing worldwide customer base, which consists of broad acre, row crop and specialty crops farmers. The customers are being served through a dedicated international network of distributors and dealers.
Rometron prides itself on its innovative, young, yet professional staff of 40. However international demand for out technology is growing, so we are constantly looking to expand the team. Therefore we are looking for a dedicated International Sales Manager with an affinity with cutting edge agricultural technology.
Tasks and responsibilities
As a Product Manager, you help to establish the required support structure behind the WEED-IT technology. In this role you will be responsible for setting up a structure to provide critical product engineering expertise and support, including leading any new staff appointments and the development of necessary in country partnerships, distribution and after sales support.
- Partner with the General Manager to implement and drive an initial 3 year strategic plan
- Leverage Agricultural Product Engineering experience to ensure all sprayers are optimized to deliver the best results for each situation, including the fitment to a variety of platforms
- Lead the installation and after sales support strategy by helping build sustainable partnerships with high level service providers
- Have a strong focus on demonstrating the technology at various trade shows and individually as opportunities arise
- Work closely with the General Manager to develop aligned strategies around our path to market that are focused on building the WEED-IT brand, corporate positioning and market awareness
- Conduct analysis of new partnership opportunities that will deliver on our growth strategy
- Partner with key industry leaders to build awareness for the WEED-IT brand
- Provide regular feedback on learnings and development opportunities to Croplands head office and Rometron, who are the manufacturer of WEED-IT
Skills and qualifications
- You have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree level of work and thinking
- Interest in agriculture
- Knowledge of (spray) technology
- Eager to learn and willing to develop further
- Strong and broad knowledge of agricultural equipment and markets
- Open-minded, disciplined, and team-oriented
- Not limited to a 9-to-5 mentality
- Native in English, speaking and writing
- Natural public speaking style
- Willingness to travel across Canada
- Willingness to move to a central location in the prairies
